Liberty, major footwear brand in India plans to open approximately 60 stores in the year 2010.
These stores will be both company owned as well as franchised ones. With this the company store count will become 550 stores in 2010. The expansion of the brand is planned for across India, with more focus on tier-II cities and towns. Of 60 stores approximately 20 will be opened through the franchise route and the rest would be company owned.
It is the is the only Indian company that is among the top five manufacturers of leather footwear in the world with a turnover exceeding US $100 million. It is also planning overseas expansion by foraying in countries like South Africa, Singapore, Middle-East, and Kuala Lumpur.
